What we accept
Working laptops of any brand. If it turns on and runs, a school can probably use it.
Yes, please
- Working laptops of any brand: Windows, MacBooks and Chromebooks.
- Chargers. Please include them where you can. Laptops without chargers are much harder for schools to use.
- Desktops, monitors and 3D printers. Let us know and we'll try to find a school that would gratefully accept them.
Where they go
Higher-spec laptops (for example 16 GB RAM and a recent i5/i7 or Apple silicon) go to secondary school students in design, photography, art, media and technology, where software like Adobe Creative Cloud needs real power.
Lower-spec laptops suit primary and junior classes. Many schools convert them to Chromebooks with ChromeOS Flex, which gives older hardware a fast, secure new life.
Minimum spec for ChromeOS Flex
- 4 GB RAM
- 16 GB internal storage
- Can boot from a USB drive
- Full administrator access to the BIOS/UEFI (remove BIOS passwords)
Sorry, we can't take
- Broken laptops. Neither we nor the schools are set up to repair them.
- Laptops that are still locked to your company: management enrolment, BIOS passwords, Find My or activation locks. See the preparation guide.
- Money. We're not a registered charity and we don't accept monetary donations.
Got a cupboard of old laptops?
You wipe them, we pick them up, and they go straight to a school that has asked for them.
