# The Laptop Drop

> The Laptop Drop matches retired company laptops with New Zealand schools that need them. Companies wipe their working laptops; we arrange pickup and deliver them to a school. 703 laptops have been delivered to 21 New Zealand schools so far, from 26 donor organisations.

Key facts:
- Who it's for: New Zealand companies with retired (working) laptops, and NZ schools/kura that need devices for students.
- How companies donate: fill in a short form, wipe the laptops themselves, and The Laptop Drop normally arranges pickup and drops them at a school.
- Laptops must be working. Broken laptops are not accepted. Chargers are appreciated.
- It is free. The Laptop Drop is not a registered charity and does not accept money. Running costs are funded by ResolvePay.
- Schools register projects via a teacher or school leader; parents cannot register for their own child.
- Right now 7 school projects need 179 more laptops.
